Why can’t funny women be hot? Or accomplished? Or smart? Why do so many women with these otherwise highly valued traits have to downplay them to get laughs?

Why Do So Many Pretty Female Comedians Pretend They’re Ugly? - The Atlantic

What the hell is this article talking about? You know what’s not funny? Someone who is hot and knows they are hot talking about the fact that they are hot. MALE OR FEMALE. It’s pretentious. Justin Timberlake makes me laugh on SNL when he is being self-deprecating or wearing silly outfits or playing an undesirable character. That doesn’t mean I don’t know he is hot. Same with Tina Fey. Her character can make stupid choices… but I know Tina Fey is smart and attractive. I don’t want to hear her talk about that though because IT’S NOT FUNNY.

I guess if we are talking about some male/female divide on this, there is more pressure in the society at large for women to be seen as sexy? I just don’t think most female comedians care about fitting into that social stereotype. Then I think about Olivia Munn, who I have very mixed feelings about… I don’t know, what do you guys think? Comediennes, do you wish you could be sexier? I know I don’t. That shit makes me uncomfortable.
